What is Mooffanka?

Mooffanka is a Web Content Management System (WCMS) which provides a flexible yet powerful substructure to websites, allowing any user with even the most basic web experience to edit, create and manage a site in real time, directly online.

Mooffanka is an open source software. If you are interested in becoming a Mooffanka developer, making a donation, or downloading a copy of the source code, please visit www.mooffanka.org.

Mooffanka, unlike many WCMSs does not require the user to install anything on thier system - no plugins. Additionally it is truly cross-browser - it may be used by Internet Explorer, Netscape or Opera, regardless of the operating system.

The system is composed of three main environments:

  • Sword is Mooffanka's editing environment. It allows users to write, edit, manage and publish thier documents. sWord also allows users to manage any site libraries. Almost all users will use sWord at some point.

  • Users and Group Manager is a system tool which allows users with the proper permissions to completly manage the site's users and groups. This tool is mostly used to assign users to groups and to manage user/group permissions.

  • Tree Manager is the tool which handles the sites menu's. Users with Tree Manager permissions may use this tool to organize the document and tool trees, and assign sub-menus to other users to handle for themselves.
